This course is designed to teach scapular, trunk, and pelvis skeletal and muscular
anatomy. It will also incorporate medical terminology, the Pilates movement principles, biomechanics, postural assessment, education on common injuries, and sports specific
training. There is both lecture and lab in order to understand proper posture, FEEL where the deeper muscles are, and to learn what exercises activate those muscles. This course focuses on the smaller, deeper muscles that are commonly ignored in a traditional gym setting. The intended audiences are Pilates students, Pilates instructors, and Personal
Trainers who want to further their understanding of anatomy, core activation, and Pilates.
