The Art Center Highland Park (TAC) is pleased to announce a private home-studio tour, an artist’s talk, and a question and answer session with Evanston mixed media and architectural artist, Heather Hancock, on August 17th. Through the shaping and manipulation of individual pieces of glass, Heather explores neuroscience, biology, urban landscapes, and the connection between people, their environment, and the natural world. After working for more than a decade in physical rehabilitation, she transitioned to making mixed media work with glass. However, her interest and field of study remained the same: information, environment, and the human mind. Heather shares, “When I start a piece, I set up a hypothesis about how the piece will function to engage viewers.”
Heather’s work has been shown throughout the United States, most recently at Art Expo New York and Ken Saunders Gallery in Chicago.
Come explore the marriage of art and science, nature and permanence with members of The Affiliate Circle and Heather Hancock.
This experience is available to members of The Affiliate Circle. Kindly RSVP to Ilana Feldman, Development and Center Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
