February Youth Art Month – District 113 and 112 Exhibition – Students Shine at TACHP Gallery
Every year the work pours in over a couple of days and the curating staff and some amazingly resourceful faculty members from School Districts 112 and 113 face the challenge: where to put it all.
Starting on Thursday, February 7th, the students of District 113 will share their work with the public, using The Art Center Highland Park Galleries as their exhibit venue. This work, the result of guidance and instruction from multi-talented, dedicated art teachers at several area schools, will represent over one hundred student works in each session.
Then on Tuesday, February 26, District 112 takes over, with the same kind of effort from faculty and students. The walls of the Main, Fireplace, East and possibly the Cortesi Gallery, will be covered with 2-D art pieces. The floors and pedestals, plus extra shelving that is brought in to hold all the sculptures, will hold 3-D works of all types.
District #113 Opening Reception: February 7, 5:30-7:30pm.
District #112 Opening Reception: February 26, 5:30-7:30pm.
