This practice of Hatha Yoga is designed to open the energy channels, chakras, and psychic centers of the body while increasing flexibility of the spine, strengthening the bones and stimulating the circulatory and immune systems. The class is focused on the use of the breath to reduce stress, calm the mind, and to create strength and flexibility rather than the use of force or power.
Each class begins with breath coordination and a series of movements known as Sun Salutations. Throughout the class there will be relaxation as well modifications for all poses regardless of flexibility, strength or balance issues.
Classical Yoga states that poses should be steady and comfortable, firm yet relaxed helping a practitioner to become more aware of their body, mind, and environment.
Please listen carefully to the instructor and do NOT exceed your body’s limitations. Please let the instructor know if there are any pre-existing injuries or health concerns.
