The Stupey Log Cabin is an important symbol of our City’s history. Have a sneak peak inside the Cabin as it enters its last phase of preservation! The Stupey Cabin is entering the last phase of fundraising as they try to reach the goal of $110,000 to finish cabin restoration and begin educational programming, teaching children about the life and times of those early pioneers and the family’s who came here when it was no more than a deep forest. The Highland Park Historical Society is seeking community volunteers to lead or assist with activities such as the following:
· Face painting
· Games from the 19th century – chess / draughts (checkers) / Jacob’s Ladder / jacks / marbles / game of graces / cup & ball game / Bilbo catcher / nine-pins / spinning tops
· Demonstration of activities from the time period – sewing / simple crafts
