WHAT: 11TH ANNUAL BITTER JESTER BATTLE OF THE BANDS GRAND FINALE
WHEN: MONDAY, JULY 4TH @ 4-9:30PM preceding the City’s 4th of July fireworks celebration in front of 3,000 people
WHERE: Wolters Field, 1080 Park Ave. West, Highland Park, IL, 60035
WHO: 50 talented young musicians aged 11-19 from all across Chicagoland, battle it out to be crowned Grand Champions
DETAILS: After battling it out each Friday night in June, eight Semi-Finalist bands perform in front of a public audience and panel of professional judges who’ll select two Finalist Bands. The Grand Champion is then chosen by the audience’s cheers and applause via the official Bluegrass Restaurant Decibel Meter. Runners-Up and an Honorable Mention Band will also be crowned. No band goes home empty handed.

BOTB is known for putting on spectacular top-notch performances and has seen tremendous growth.
The Grand Champions, Runners-Up, Honorable Mention Band, and all other Semi-Finalists and Showcase bands will each walk away with valuable gifts from local stores and retailers so that no performer goes home empty handed. Prizes include professional studio recording time courtesy of Darwin Records, BobDog Studios, and Audio Engineer Igor Dimovski, professional photography courtesy of Richard Shay Photography, Mike Kelly Photography, Luke Schneider Photography, and Steve Handwerker Photography, free gear and equipment from Guitar Center, free pavilion tickets to select concerts at Ravinia Festival, lessons and master classes, gift certificates from Bluegrass Restaurant, Abt Electronics, restaurants, and retail stores, and much, much more!
Bitter Jester Battle of the Bands is a production of the newly-formed Bitter Jester Foundation for the Arts (BJFA) in association with the six-time Emmy® award-winning Bitter Jester Studios to mentor and support emerging artists and encourage persons to enter the arts through performance opportunities, scholarships, and grants. BJFA is funded in part by the City of Highland Park and a grant from theDowntown Highland Park Alliance.
