ORPHANS OF THE STORM ANIMAL SHELTER

Orphans of the Storm® animal shelter takes in the stray and abandoned, abused and neglected dogs and cats from throughout northeastern Illinois and offers refuge, care and hope until they can be adopted out into loving families.
The shelter is open to the public for adoptions every day of the year except major holidays. With capacity for 190 dogs and over 350 cats, we offer a selection like no other in the Chicago area. Our adoption fee is $90 and can be paid in the form of a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover Card) or cash. We do not accept checks.

The adoption fee of $90 includes the first innoculations, a general worming, a kennel cough preventative, a flea and tick treatment, a collar, leash and a tag. The dog will be spayed/neutered (if he is not already) at no expense to you at our animal hospital before going home with you.

There will be a final series of innoculations at your expense which includes second distemper/booster shot, fecal exam, rabies vaccination and a heartworm test. These will be given at the same time as the spay/neuter and may be paid for at the animal hospital when you pick up your new dog.

Orphans Alumn Rosie says keep warm and be safe today!

The main shelter is still waiting on plows for the visitor parking lot and intends on opening later today.

Who is this cute dog?

This Rosie says the same thing. Stay warm and safe!!

Benji’s foster mom said she is an absolute delight! She said he is very smart, loves to snuggle and is housebroken. Benji came to her after he was found running out in a field in a very rural area. It took almost a week to catch him - he was that frightened. No owners stepped forward for him, so he lived in a foster home with other small dogs until he made his way to Orphans. He is available with 100s of other dogs and cats. For a complete list of adoptables https://orphansofthestorm.org/find-your-friend/
