CATHOLIC CHARITIES LAKE COUNTY SERVICES

Annually, Catholic Charities serves over 53,000 residents of Lake County through a broad array of services provided out of multiple sites across the county. Services include maternity and adoption, independent living program, and our youth housing advocacy program. For seniors, we provide information, assistance, and referral/outreach services, homemaker/in-home services, case management, nursing home pre-screening, elder abuse investigations, and our senior nutrition programs — including Meals on Wheels and senior dining sites. Additionally, we offer a continuum of care for the homeless or those at risk of homelessness: emergency assistance and food pantries, emergency shelter, transitional housing at Samaritan House for women and their children, parish-supported Family Hope Program, and our nationally recognized Self-Sufficiency programs. We provide case management, counseling and food assistance to HIV/AIDS affected clients in the county. In addition to housing and budget counseling, individual, couples and family counseling is provided by our Holbrook Counseling Center as well as our unique counseling and support program Loving Outreach for Survivors of Suicide (LOSS) for those who are suffering the loss of a family member or friend through suicide.  We also provide case management and supportive services to veterans as well as assisting them with resume writing, employment searches and mock interviews through our Veterans Services.

Our Lake County region serves the following communities: Antioch, Wadsworth, Zion, Winthrop Harbor, Waukegan, Gurnee, Lake Villa, Ingleside, Fox Lake, Round Lake, Gurnee, Grayslake, Libertyville, North Chicago, Lake Bluff, Mundelein, Wauconda, Island Lake, Barrington, Lake Zurich, Vernon Hills, Lincolnshire, Buffalo Grove, Deerfield, Highwood, Highland Park.

Advent Prayers with Mary (every Thursday)

Advent Prayers with Mary (every Thursday)

December 21, 2017, 6:00pm - December 21, 2017, 7:00pm

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago
721 N LaSalle St
Chicago, IL  60654 Map

Celebrate this season of Advent with our Blessed Mother and Catholics from around Chicago in prayer every Thursday, praying for peace and celebrating our relationship with Mary, as Holy Name Cathedral Young Adults and the Catholic Charities Junior Board host Prayers with Mary!

Upcoming Dates:

November 30 - Joyful Mysteries
December 7 - Luminous Mysteries
December 14 - Sorrowful Mysteries
December 21 - Glorious Mysteries

Prayers with Mary combines a collection of Marian prayers, including the Rosary, with individual impromptu prayers shared from the heart. These range from intercessory requests, both personal and general, to biblical meditation, to thanksgiving and exultation. The unifying thread across all of these prayers is our intimate spiritual connection with our Blessed Mother.

Whether or not you are with us in person, please join us in spirit in our prayers: for a closer relationship with God and with Mary and all the saints, for the peace and wisdom of the Holy Spirit and an end to violence, and for the saving triumph of Christ’s love in heart, and every soul!

Prayers with Mary takes place Thursdays at 6:00 PM on the third floor of Catholic Charities at 721 N LaSalle, either in the chapel or, when necessary, in room 362.

No experience is necessary--only a desire to share prayerful love with Blessed Mary.

If you cannot attend but would like for us to raise up a personal petition of yours in our prayers, or if you have any questions, please let us know!
